We have learned with great sadness that it has been confirmed that Grandmaster Trân, president of the International Taekwon-Do Federation, passed away in the Haiti earthquake. There is more information on the ITFNZ website and on the ITF website.

Grandmaster Trân has visited New Zealand in the past, and some of us have had the privilege of meeting him and hearing him speak. If you have a look at his messages on the ITF website (http://www.tkd-itf.org/pub_web/ver_eng/archive_presmess.html) you can get a feeling for the amount of energy and devotion he had for furthering Taekwon-Do and how it can help build a more peaceful world. He has been instrumental in helping ITF focus more on the “Do”. I highly recommend reading his messages.
